DTG Testing's parent company, the Digital TV Group (DTG), has been at the centre of digital TV development in the UK for over a decade and has ensured the delivery of a rich consumer experience, a vibrant and stable market, and helped position the UK as a world leader in the evolution of television.

DTG Testing's core team of industry experts has been instrumental in the launch of services such as Freeview and Freesat and technological advances from the introduction of widescreen TV to the launch of DVB-T2 MPEG-4 HD services on the UK digital terrestrial platform.

The DTG is currently at the forefront of the development of Connected TV services and has begun work profiling the UK specification for 3DTV.

With a network of over 150 member organisations including broadcasters, platform operators, manufacturers, retailers, government and regulators, the Group can provide an unrivaled insight into UK DTT, D-Sat and Connected TV. DTG Testing offers independent, impartial and expert consultancy to both members and non-members that empowers organisations to make informed management decisions, allowing organisations to take full advantage of business development opportunities both in the UK and internationally.

International work

To develop a fully robust and reliable set of test suites for the UK market took over a decade.

However, DTG Testing has enjoyed considerable success in recent years leveraging this experience to develop test suites for other territories based on the UK profile.

DTG Testing now provides the test and conformance regime for the Freeview New Zealand service and provides a test suite under licence to a third-party test house in Hong Kong.

DTG Testing offers RF Performance tests for the UK, the Nordig region (Denmark, Finland, Iceland, Norway and Sweden) and to E-Book standard (most other European nations including Spain, Germany, Switzerland, France, Belgium, Czech Republic and Hungary).
